Informance Launches Major Sanitation Benchmark Research For Food & Beverage Manufacturing

Study will show the impact of sanitation practices on OEE and other performance metrics.

NORTHBROOK, IL - Informance International, a division of Solarsoft Business Systems, and a leader in manufacturing business intelligence solutions announced today that their experts are exploring an important area in manufacturing benchmark research, to understand the effects of sanitation practices on Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and other performance metrics in the food and beverage manufacturing industry. This study builds on earlier manufacturing benchmark research conducted by Informance.

The purpose of this study is to provide food and beverage manufacturers insight on how they stack up against their peers, and how they can develop an action plan for operational improvement as it relates to sanitation practices. Study findings will include:

  • Analysis of sanitation practices in relation to key manufacturing performance metrics

  • Correlation of sanitation practices with metrics such as OEE across different types of food and beverage manufacturing (proteins, sugars, liquids, etc.)

  • Top five best practices to reduce the effects of sanitation activities on operations performance

  • Financial impact of sanitation practices

Prior research in manufacturing performance conducted last year covered over 700 global manufacturing operations, in four distinct sectors – consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and industrial. While the current research is specific to food and beverage manufacturing, researchers anticipate a similar breadth of participation from manufacturers eager to leverage benchmarking for operational improvement.

“When a manufacturer participates in an Informance benchmark study, they have a unique opportunity to examine strategies of best-in-class performers to close the gap between current performance and what could be,” commented John Oskin, Founder and Executive Vice President with Informance. “Since we report results in aggregate, and strictly protect individual company data and responses, manufacturing companies can leverage insight they wouldn’t otherwise have access to.”

Everyone who participates in the Sanitation Benchmark Study will receive the executive summary, and can use this insight to understand how sanitation practices impact their manufacturing performance.
